This campground is not really suited for tent campers. Also quite expense compared to the state parks. We set up the first night and a drunk man came out of his trailer and harassed us multiple times and peed behind our tent. I'm not at all saying everyone in the park was bad, this was just our experience. It's just a big trailer/ RV park. No ground or camp fires allowed. I gave it 2 stars because if I had been in an RV it may have been alright. The park it's self was large and had a little fishing pond, senior center and disk golf course. Unfortunately they seemed angry at us for checking out early because of the man next door. I wouldn't stay there again.
This park is one of the most wonderful places in the world, run by the best staff. Many people come for the Boy Scouts festival of lights, but don't know all the park has to offer. Our 4-H club has a huge farm there, there are incredible mountain bike trails and even archery and other sports. So bring your RV but make sure you call first and reserve a place with the awesome rangers!
This is a very large nice city park. We have been staying in the campground. The bathrooms have been clean. The only complaint would be they don’t have a lot of shade.
(This is a review for the laundry facility in the camp site)
People are better off leaving site and not using them. The price is $2.50 to wash and dry each use on each machine. Advertised as 30 min and 60 min respectively.
The middle washer can't clean anything. Dirt and soil still over items inside.
Dryers are worse. You have 1 standalone that gets warm but dries nothing in that hour in high setting. And the two stack, one is marked broken leaving maybe one other that works. Which is probably why someone else made use of it before me washing their clothes elsewhere.
Yeah as expensive as flamingo is (and their limited parking is) it's best to go there or another laundry mat facility. Don't waste money till the park can fix these machines.
