Great place to take a break and learn of the local settlers. If you're driving on Highway 12 and need a minute to catch your breath this might be a good choice for a stop. The pavilion is situated on the top of a small rise that overlooks the Escalante valley. The views of the valley and mountains are unmatched in a place so easy to get to. Please like and follow for better reviews.

We loved reading about the rest of the story after visiting the Bluff Fort and seeing more of the Journey that began in Escalante and went through the Hole in the Rock.

Nice stop of the scenic highway 12. Lots of information about the 1st settlers to the area and the stories behind Hole In The Rock. The lady working there is the niece of the man that created all of the amazing artwork. His image that is capturing the moment of a wagon going down Hole in the Rock is the definition of an Oh S#!+ moment. A definite must stop and see!

Best museum stop on visit to Utah’s Mighty Five! Murals and info signage outside is great but don’t miss the video inside! Fascinating story of persistence and strength of settlers in 1880!

A great place to be. We spontaneously stopped by on our way to the Hole in the Rock Road and visited the outside area of the museum which was closed. Very interesting information stands and pictures. Certainly worth a visit.
