Neatly laid out campsites, 90 minutes hiking briskly from the trailhead, fire allowed...what's not to like
I could've have been more disappointed with this location after I heard pretty good things about it. There was trash and I even saw graffiti on numerous rocks. There are many nicer locations close by. Disappointed.
We camped out here on a super cloudy rainy day, and it looked like a scene straight out of a horror movie. Spooky and gorgeous. Also, beavers. They've got a burrow/den/beaver house built in the water pretty close to the lean-to. Saw plenty of evidence of their handiwork, but not the beavers themselves, sadly. Weather was probably too bad.
Pls, do yourself a favor. Spend a night here. Amazing scenery and not too hard of a hike to get to it. Indulge
pretty good place for backpackers w/ water and dead trees galore, be wary of heavy rain when hiking back up because its going to be like walking in a wild river rafting attraction
