Take Exit 153 off of I-70; turn south (right) and get in the left lane. Turn left at the first road (Smyrna Road). Campground is on the left side of the road; follow the signs.
Deer Ridge is an excellent place to stay overnight, but I would not recommend long term. While manageable, the well water stains everything yellow and has a strong metallic odor. Additionally, the property is owned by an interesting duo. The male half is absolutely wonderful. The female half is fine as long as you agree with her no matter what. The moment you ask a question that goes against her logic, she becomes extremely argumentative. Even her own husband does not hide his thoughts, openly rolling his eyes when you explain you are simply following her direction.
Great place to camp! Do not let the bad reviews fool you. Our Story- First off, Pat and Scott (Owners) are good people. Pat greeted us with open arms, and helped us find what we were looking for. As a family of first responders, we are very cautious of where we wanted to go. Our first day to the campground with our camper, Pat stated "Welcome Home!" and helped us back our camper into its first seasonal spot. This was very refreshing to witness for me and my wife. We wanted to find somewhere quiet, and safe for us to relax and enjoy our family time with our son. Pat and Scott set us up on the last seasonal spot they had and offered to help us in anyway they could. The public restrooms are nice and clean, the club house they have is really cool and the grounds are well maintained. Every time my wife and I looked, Pat and Scott were hard at work checking on campsites, mowing, trimming, and helping guest. The seasonal campers here are very friendly and welcomed my family with open arms. My first impressions of Deer Ridge Camping Resort is for sure a 5 star. Pat and Scott should be proud of this beautiful campground.
Perfect location off of I70. Nice, big level pull through site with full hookups. Great for an overnight stay if passing through on the interstate. The owner was warm and welcoming and the property is clean and super pretty in the fall! We’ll be saving this location for future stays!
Wonderful experience! My son's all loved being here. Clean facilities, spacious shower room, both Mrs. Pat and Mr. Scott are extremely kind, helpful, and welcoming. Loved that the laundry and shower is open 24-7. I believe my youngest would have stayed if I let him. So thankful that our friend stumbled on deer ridge.
I stayed at deer ridge a few nights in August. They were really nice! It was my first time camping and they got a spot for me last minute that was close to the bathroom and spacious. The husband even helped me back my camper up since it was my first time going camping. It was quiet, clean and easy. I hope to come back :)
