Have been coming here for a few years now we have had nothing but great interactions with staff. The campground is well kept and looks better than it has in years! Seeing some of these “reviews” people are ridiculous. If you have a real complaint and talk to the manager she goes above and beyond to make it right as does the rest of the staff.
Swimmers itch is not a toxin it’s something that happens anywhere and they did the right thing posting caution signs that explained what it was and how to avoid experiencing a rash. A couple of the permanent campers told us they treat the lake monthly so what more can they do?
The campground is well maintained, they have tons of activities for the whole family. This was our 3rd time out here this summer and they have had a band every time, crafts, games, food trucks and activities. What more could you ask for!
The store has business hours just like any other business. Look at the posted hours and plan accordingly.
If you only have negative things to say about this place maybe you should look at what you are doing wrong. It’s camping folks it is whatever you make it.
Nice campground, but the lady that seems to be running it is like a dictator. She is completely overboard on every minor thing and always says I'll call the police. She always makes a big scene. We were not treated this way but have seen it multiple times done to others over our last few trips here. We won't be back along with several others that camp with us. It's a shame because it's definitely a nice campground!
Nicest camp ground around. Don’t let the bad reviews scare you off. Marti and the entire staff are top notch. We originally only intended on staying one night but ended up staying an entire week. There’s tons of activities for kids and everyone was super friendly. It’s a little more pricey than a state park but you get what you pay for. The store is reasonably priced and has tons of stuff to keep you from needing to make a trip to town. The beach was super clean and I LITERALLY didn’t see a single piece of trash on the ground anywhere throughout the entire campground. Every single one of the employees were hard at work anytime we seen them. I can’t say enough about this place. If you and your family are willing to spend the extra few dollars to camp here over a park or another campground, you’ll be thoroughly pleased.
As for the reviews of people complaining about management, I think the place is managed perfectly. In a day and age of everyone being short staffed, no one wanting to work and cutting corners wherever possible to get the job done, Marti and her crew are truly a cut above. You could tell everyone had a task and was working hard to complete it.
Will undoubtedly be returning and probably purchasing a seasonal spot here. Truly can’t say enough about this place and the way it is maintained and operated!
First time campers to this campground and we definitely recommend for families. I wanted to give a little feedback based on some previous reviews.
1. Anyone who has swam in a lake, pond etc should know that it can turn your swimsuits colors… especially light colors 🤦🏼♀️ dress accordingly.
2. It is not uncommon for parasites to live in lakes, ponds, etc … our family was fine when swimming for multiple hours.
3. Follow the rules provided by the campground and you shouldn’t run into problems with the staff.
4. Other campgrounds offer the water blow ups but charge per hour so this is definitely a steal and worth the price.
5. The camp store closes at 4pm but you can plan accordingly and purchase things before hand. There is a dollar store 11 minutes away for emergencies and restaurants.
6. The restrooms and store were very clean.
7. The beach provides huge umbrellas and nice beach chairs at your convenience.
8. The playground is brand new and fun.
Basically, ignore a lot of the past reviews and have fun with your family!!
I stumbled upon this place with zero expectations, and it turned out to be an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and ended up making wonderful friends during our stay. The facilities were impressively clean, making our experience even more enjoyable. The employees went above and beyond with their friendliness and helpfulness, adding a special touch to our time there. And let's not forget the water toys – they provided endless fun and excitement! Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fantastic getaway.
