Great spot. Close to the water. It takes a while to drive to the campsite. It is pretty far from the freeway. But that is what makes it so good. Bears are there so use the bear boxs. The bears knock over the trash bins nightly.

OMG! We take our family here once a year. This group campground has about 5 acres to ourselves. It is so pretty. The water isn't that far. Toilets, tables, storage containers, and a huge firepit. It's a way in but worth it.

Campground is alright. Its very remote. GPS will recommend you take soda spring rd. Do not take it unless you have 4x4. Its 28 miles of off-road. There is another Road thru Auburn that's paved.

Very remote beautiful campground. If your coming from the Nevada side GPS will direct you thru Soda Springs Rd. It is off road and you will be navigating thru a few creeks & steep hills. There's no reception in the area so if you choose to off road it my advice would be to have an offline map on hand as there are quite a few areas where the roads split. There's another paved entrance thru Auburn that is a better drive into the lake.

This is an awesome campground for a large group. So many places for tents and trailers. It's a bit of a trek to get to, but that makes it all worth it when you get there.

We had a large group that all came with large trailers, boats and tents. There was room for everyone. We spent the day at the nearby French Meadows Reservoir kayaking and boating, laying in the sun and stringing up hammocks for a nice lunchtime nap.

We enjoyed the HUGE fire pit every evening as well and the large group barbecue area. Morning breakfast was served on the large picnic tables. It's great when we can all have our own area to sleep and do family time, but can all gather in one area for meals if desired.

We hiked nearby in the granite chief wilderness. We hiked to the top of Pony Peak.

Fun way to spend Labor Day!
