The backpacking shelter and tent sites can hold 4 people per site. A group can be no larger than 12 people and requires purchase of enough sites to accommodate your group. This shelter is an Adirondack style lean-to shelter with a stone fireplace.

Great view. Well maintained shelters with fireplace and firewood provided. Also appreciated the pit toilets and potable water tank since I was hiking with wife and kids. Would give it a 5 except for fees. Cost seemed a little high for what we got.
Sweet camping shelters with fire place, public bathrooms (no running water), drinking water, and firewood provided.
These shelters are amazing. Perfect for winter camping/backpacking. You can make a loop and use Cow Run/Wolfkiel for a two night trip. The cut wood is fantastic and the shelters are nicely kept.
The area is beautiful and diverse with tons of streams and water features. Love Oil Creek!
We stayed the night in the tent area after hiking the Gerard Trail. My only complaint is that the tent area is not flat and finding a good place for a tent is challenging. Also why are none of the campsites by a stream? We still really enjoyed ourselves. Next time we may rent a shelter just so we can pitch a tent on flat ground.
Amazing Adirondack style shelters along the oil Creek trail. There is plenty of ready firewood to keep you warm through the night. I think the cow run shelters are in a prettier area than the other shelters on the other side of the trail. There is also potable water, but not during winter. Although there are plenty of streams just a few minutes away if you need water in winter.
