This may be a 5 star diner, but I'm giving it 2 because even though we Googled it and it said it was open, we arrived there, unloaded everyone from the car, only to find that they were actually closed. I'm not sure, but it did not look like it was closed permanently.
It was off the main road and tricky to get to. Inside is a bar and towards the back of the building is the diner. Quaint but a bit older. The bar had a live band which played golden oldies. They were enjoyable to listen to. aI had wings and they were ok..little bit to much batter on wings. Also ordered a hamburger and fries. They were good.
Not really my kind of diner but it was ok.
This is a review of the hotel only, I wasn't able to experience the diner but really wish I could have because my experience with the hotel was simply the best! A friend and I stayed there two nights due to a winter storm. We were bike packing when the storm hit. It was night, we were cold and wet and Jamie at the front desk was so incredibly friendly and accommodating. She let us store our muddy bikes in the laundry room till the next day where she gave us access to an outdoor hose to clean them off. I was able to do laundry as well. If you're reading this Jamie I want to say thank you again! I really appreciated everything during my time there!!!
This place used to be so cool and now unfortunately its being ran into the ground by whoever owns it. It's very sad. Hope he can turn it around before he loses it for good!
This is a review on the motel only:
I came across this little gem by accident. And boy am I glad I did!! I was broke down, took to the loves for my truck to be fixed, after spending 6 hours in the heat, I was suffering from heat exhaustion and heat stroke so the employees at the Loves took me to this little motel.
The staff was extremely compassionate and helpful. I asked about getting something to eat and unfortunately the Pilot up the hill was all the way.
Being exhausted I said thank you but nevermind. The wonderful lady works and I'll take you up the on the golf cart and bring you back. You need to get some water and food.
So I got bottles of water and a sandwich.
The room was very quaint and comfortable. No trills just COMFORT.
I passed out for two days from being sick. On day two the lady at the desk checked on me ( a different lady by the way)
The A/C was heaven sent, the water pressure in the shower was AMAZING! The view was nice, and it's very quiet so you can get plenty of rest. I've bookmarked this little gem, so in five years from now when I do my motorcycle cross country ride I stop here for a night.
If you're ever in the area I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STOPPING.
