Located on Road 300 approximately 1 mile off of High 260.
This is a great campsite. My wife and I were just looking for a first come first serve place and the previous four campsites we checked out were full. Thankfully this spot has three left and we took it. And we're so glad we did. It was a really nice relaxing weekend and the campsite was pretty big, has a bathroom, and a nice fire pit. Also the camp host was really great.
This was our first time camping here. Larry was an excellent camp host who was so helpful letting us know great hiking trails. There was a trail from the campground to the Rim Trail which was super beautiful with majestic views. We enjoyed the location of this campground only about 4 miles from Woods Canyon lake.
It's an ok campground, but there are way better ones in the area.
Pros: Easy to get to. It has a restroom, and the spots are relatively spacious. Camp host is great as always. It's close to the rim and the rim trail for nice lookouts and a good hike
Cons: It's windy this close to the rim which means it's colder and less enjoyable. The fire pits are nice, but you shouldn't use them in the heavy wind. And the worst part is that you hear traffic from the highway at all times.
Beautiful quiet area to camp, fish, shoot, ride, and spend time with the family. Everyone is respectful and the area is always clean. Great area to watch any shooting stars too if you know the true secluded areas
