Copan Point is a day-use area located on the banks of Copan Lake in Oklahomas Green Country. Camping, boating, picnicking, hunting, and fishing are popular activities here.
The 4,850-acre lake sits on the Little Caney River among a prairie landscape of grasslands and croplands. The campground is wooded but has limited shade.
Copan Lake offers its visitors extensive opportunities for a memorable outdoor recreation experience. The lake is home to many species of game fish, including largemouth bass, white crappie, channel and flathead catfish, and various species of sunfish.
Hikers and horseback riders enjoy exploring the area on several miles of trails that wind through the wooded and open meadows of the lake shore.
11,000 acres of land around the lake have been set aside for wildlife management. These lands are open for public hunting of deer, waterfowl, bobwhite quail, turkey, cottontail rabbit and squirrel.
This day-use area offers one group picnic shelter that can accommodate up to 45 people. Amenities include flush toilets, drinking water, picnic and utility tables, and grills. A boat ramp, dock, and beach are within the park.
From HWY 75, travel 2 miles west on HWY 10 and 1 mile north on County Road 3970, then turn left on W 850 Road and go 1 mile to the park.
Clean .. People need to pickup trash when they leave.. Nice fishing dock for kids and handicap
The fishing there has improved greatly! You can find shad all over the lake now. Catfish are biting on this fresh shad. This is great news to see all this bait fish. Now the game fish have something to feed on, grow to bigger size, and multiple.
We drove in just to sit and eat our lunch. We wanted to walk to the water but it was a little too far. We sat in the shade along with Pookie our Corgi and enjoyed the moment
Local Army Corp of Engineers lake, a few miles from Bartlesville, Oklahoma but actually in Copan, Oklahoma. They have free life vests available. The swimming area is fully sand bottom. Big sand beach, lits of sand for making sand castles. Volleyball net. Good times 👍
Very nice place for a picnic. Had a LARGE family gathering there. Plenty of tables, plenty of shade. There was a mowed open area near the tables for the kids to play. We were there in the middle of August but the breeze coming off the water on the point made it so comfortable.
