Super special place in Colorado. Worth paying for an RV spot with electrical hook ups if your vehicle requires it. Outstanding views in a lake filled with fish.
We spent a couple hours paddling around this reservoir last Saturday. It was a fantastic place to kayak. The rocks make for interesting views. Lots of nooks and crannies to relax in. This was our first time and we plan to go back next year and camp there. The campsites looked decent, but not much shade. So many great lunch spots along the banks. We will definitely be back.
Autumn colors were amazing. Winds had kicked up, as they do in the afternoon, but continued exploring with hiking, trail loops around parts of the lake with amazing views. This state park never disappoints. Beautiful peaceful.... thanks!!
Amazing place, have been coming here for several years now. Great experience every and each time.
If you are planning on camping, be aware that there is a small hike from parking lot to the camp sites. The walk is about a mile, so be ready to carry everything with you.
The solution that I found to work the best is to bring a kayak and load all the equipment on it and just paddle it to the site. Much faster and easier !
Highly recommended!
