Whittier Parking and Camping offers supervised vehicle and vessel trailer parking and a separate campground facility in the heart of Whittier, Alaska. Our friendly staff monitors operations during extended business hours, 7-days per week, during spring, summer and fall--usually from mid-April to late October. We are found across the railroad tracks along Whittier Street, a short walk south of the local small boat harbor, private marina, cruise dock and day-cruise facilities.
Parking and camping operations are available at reasonable rates to support visitors who recreate in Western Prince William Sound during the six-month summer season. We accept cash, checks and most major credit cards (Visa, Discover and Master Card).
Beautiful spot, the view is incredible but you have to know it's a big parking lot with sometimes a table sometimes not, and a fire pit. That's it! They have a restroom but other than that there is nothing.
It's still cheaper than some other places we've been to that have less beauty.
Also you can go to the beach and go fishing. A lot of people stop there during the day to fish and then take off at night
Then views from this campground, when the weather cooperates, are amazing. Yes, it's basically a big gravel lot, but there are defined spaces and you are just a few feet from the water. Just two pit toilets, but they were clean and there was a camp host when we were there. We stayed at the campground in town one night as well, I liked this one better because of the views. Note that it would be a bit of a hike to town from this one.
So beautiful here! Basic campground offering nice pit toilets and a view - so amazing! We saw two cruise ships dock during our one night stay. The road is rough going in and out of the campground so be aware. The tunnel is a must do. For our truck and travel trailer $22 US.
Its a gravel parking lot where RVs go to run their generators all damn night.
No rules or enforcement. Pit toilets. Nice view. Not many options in Whittier.
Lots of nails in the gravel.
Beware.
It was a gravel parking lot for parking your RV and camping. It seemed like they had a few people staying the night we stayed in the campground. It’s a convenient location to the left of the tunnel and the cruise ships pull in near here. It’s also close to a stream that’s full of fish and we saw a bear come out of the trees and catch fish.
