From Cleveland, GA, take US Rt. 129 north 10.7 miles to Boggs Creek campground on right.
Used to be 5 and great place to bring your kids and grandkids! Now it's nothing. They closed off 3/4 if the park! It's still a mess from a tornado over 7 years ago!
love the bogg, very calm and quiet area. would love to see it open for camping.
Fairly quick destination (coming from Buford or Gainesville areas). No camping overnight allowed but you can build a fire, jump in the creek to cool off. Bring your river shoes, Crocs, trail sneakers or go barefoot. There are several water crossings. I saw a small, convertible sports car cross the creek so no need for 4x4 (if you have the off road skills that is as there is one, muddy incline).
This is the definition of hidden gem. It is a winding one vehicle dirt and gravel road but it has incredible creek side picnicking areas along the road and several areas of cascading rapids over large bottles l boulders and with a short hike you can see a small water fall a ways down the road. Well worth a stop to see if you are in this area.
