Showers are in the hostel ($20 for thru-hikers), the market is inside the building and there is a wide selection of hiking/camping supplies including food, sleeping gear, backpacks, nicknacks and anything you need to re-supply with.
Great stop during visit to North Georgia and it had just snowed last week some of which was still present and made for an amazing sight.
Interesting to see a unique sight of lot of hiking shoes hung on tree, which some sites refer to have been done by SOBO (South Bound) hikers celebrating their 2000 mile hike.
Didn’t hike, amazing cat though. So soft and friendly, he was a 10/10 cat. Would pet again.
If you’re look for a great view in Northern Georgia then this is one of the places. If you’re looking to see the Historic Appalachian Trail then this the place. They have a great store with the friendliest people who are willing to help you with your hiking needs or questions.
