Visited here with a friend and took our dogs on a hike. Beautiful well kept grounds. It rained but was still refreshing walking though the trails listening to the rain. The river was beautiful. Spotted several deer grazing grass through out the state park. My dog loved the high grass. Nice camp grounds with two park rangers that live on the grounds. Definitely will return soon.
Our yearly anniversary spot, site 103 this year. Great little park, long drive in not many spots but great if you can get in.
The park was clean, and the air was crisp. The camp host was nice. We did not catch any fish. The trails could be remarked. All in all, we had fun—plenty of armadillos.
Please pay attention to the trail markers! You will wonder if your not CAREFUL!
Long time no Hike!!! We hiked this trail on 12/23/2023! As pups, this trail was phenomenal! It was a little hilly, but not too crazy. The ground wasn't too rocky. There were quite a few roots that Mom and Dad tripped over, but as pups we didn't care about this! There was one spot we had to cross a little creek which we didn't mind, but Mom didn't love this and is something to think about if it's rained a lot when you and your pups visit! We saw deer and birds! We 10/10 recommend this trail for all your pups out there!
