This pet-friendly campground provides 117 campsites for tents and RVs with water and electric hookups, and includes handicap sites, single and double sites, waterfront sites, and paved back-in and pull-through drives from 25 to 107 feet. Each site permits up to eight campers and four vehicles. The campground is located within R. Shaefer Heard Park, which includes additional amenities, such as a tennis court, multi-use ball field, hiking and mountain biking trails, boat ramps, docks, pavilions, playgrounds, amphitheater, and visitor center.

From West Point, Georgia, take U.S. Highway 29 north for 4 miles, then turn left The West Point Project sign and then travel a short distance to a right turn, into the campground entrance.

Fees

Campsite fees for reservations made after January 1, 2021 will be increased. Single campsites with water and electricity rent for $30.00 per night while double campsites will rent for $60.00 per night.

West Point Lake campgrounds will accept payment by credit card, debit card or prepaid credit card only. No other form of payment will be accepted. This change will streamline financial transactions, provide quicker processing of refunds and enhance gatehouse operations. Lots of different campsites to choose from. They have a few that are doubles, so if you have family coming with another rv or camper then these would be in your favor to reserve. Our site on the lake was just right! The entrance/exit gate is padlocked at 10pm. So if you have to go to work early, then you need to park outside of the locked gate. They didn't take too kindly to us waking them up at 5am to leave. But they let us out. Just remember don't call that number unless it's an emergency, working is not an emergency they told us!

Beautiful little park — nice sites with electric and water - had a trunk or treat going on and everyone had their sites decorated for Halloween. I felt like a Scrooge since I don’t / didn’t have any decorations out. (I will know next time)
