Campers will typically find seclusion and privacy at this small, 16 acre lake. The campsite is fairly roomy (70 ft. by 40 ft), grassy, and suitable for 2 families. Access to the lake is by carry-in only and a boat slide has been constructed for small boats or canoes. Limited parking is available. Carr Lake is provides fishing for largemouth bass, yellow perch, northern pike and an occasional brook or brown trout. Carr Creek, both upstream and downstream from the lake, offers a good fishery for brook and brown trout The lake does not have good swimming.
From the Intersection of US-2 and Forest Highway 13 (about 14 miles east of Rapid River or 22 miles west of Manistique), drive north 8.4 miles on Highway 13 to CR 442. Turn right (east) and drive 5 miles to County Road N-3. Turn left (north) on N-3 and drive 0.1 mile to FR 2422 turning left (northwest) on to 2422 and continuing about 0.25 mile to the campsites.
Word of warning! The road going in and out is not meant for cars without 4x4's. The road is meant for trucks and atv's. Other than that, we loved it. The site was clean, spacious and quiet.
Beautiful scenery and very relaxing. Will advise that it's best if you have a vehicle designed for off road . Had a rock puncture a tire on my SUV coming out for supplies.
