Nice campground, used to come here 30 years ago for family vacations. Lots for kids to do, but the game room needs help. If I didn't have history with this place it would be 3 stars. Lots of seasonal campers. Group sites and some trails.

I’m being generous by giving this campground a 3 stars. The store was gross, didn’t say $ for showers my husband went to the showers and found out, so he came back and used the shower in our camper and the reason he didn’t do that to begin with is I booked a FHU and got W/E instead, there are no rules, no quit hours posted, so our neighbors were listening to music (no one could understand) until past 2a.m. When we went tubing they kept having problems with the van they used, and as we went in they just dropped the tubes without helping us take them to the water and once we returned there was no one there to help. us out. Now this isn’t my first trip canoeing/kayaking/tubing. I have gone to a few different places, but this was the worst one by far. I’m sorry to the owners because they were very nice people, but this was a big disappointment and not family friendly. If your looking just for a party place this might be for you, but I won’t be returning.

Had a great time with a large group (around 30 adults) that included several pop-ups, a trailer, and quite a few tents. Group site 4 is beautiful, right on the river with lots of room for a huge campfire and a few yard games. It's at the back of the campground, so there's little foot or golf cart traffic. We did not have water or electric. That is a drawback for me, but we used a couple generators as needed. I arrived on a Thursday and stayed till Sunday. There were 3 port-a- potties near the site that were used by all the sites near the back. They were just cleaned and emptied when I arrived and were wiped down each day and more TP was brought in. So, they weren't horrible but they gross me out, no matter what, especially as the weekend went on and they got fuller and fuller. There was a centrally located bathhouse, also kept clean and stocked with TP. 2 of 3 soap dispensers were empty the entire time I was there. I didn't shower, but I believe there were 4 showers in total to share between male and female. They do require quarters and are cold for the most part (I heard). I chose to use the baby wipes I brought. I went there to go tubing down the Rifle River. That was a blast! I have nothing to compare it to as this was my first time ever tubing down a river. I can definitely say I will 100% do that again any time I get a chance! They have a great system in place for that activity. You could canoe or kayak as well. Rentals are available, but I would definitely bring my own tube as the rental selection was pretty slim pickins. As for the canoes and kayaks, they looked fine but I didn't use one so can't say. One does not need to stay at the campground to use the river activities. Parking is available for daily use. Owners are super friendly and helpful. Considering the massive flooding this past spring, the campground was in great shape. There is also a small lake with a cute beach and an in-ground pool. I observed a few people swimming in the lake. I didn't check out the pool. Many sites do have water and electrical hookup.

The rates, staff, and grounds are amazing. The sites are kind of confusing (not sure where your site ends and the next begins. So would be helpful if a staff member took you to your site). We camped on a river site. View was awesome. Tube trip had fantastic staff. And ending the tube trip at the camp made things easy ( no wet bus ride back 🙂

We are planning our next trip already.
