You're at the end of the road and it feels like it. Rustic and isolated, this is the place to camp when you want to really escape. Drive up beaches, (w/permit) and the excellent town of Buxton close at hand make this the best of all worlds.
PS: October is the magic season here.
I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl, and it’s been over 15 years. This place will always have my heart. It’s just at clean and beautiful since the 1st time my parents took me. The restrooms and showers have been remodeled which great and the lots are very well taking care of. I do miss having a park ranger 24/7 to check on guests and any interruptions at night. Only thing I was would say is generators should NOT be allowed to be on all night.
I really enjoyed the scenery. It was so calm and peaceful. The fishing was amazing! First time I've seen the ocean and fished it and landed an amazing stingray! Site was nice. Could have been mowed but wasn't there much more than to sleep. Showers were freezing cold to the point of being painful and no lighting which was a pain. But overall I can't wait to come back again, just need somewhere else to shower
Great location. Stayed here a few days in September and it’s quiet and not busy. The showers are cold, and most don’t work, would of have gave 5 stars but cold showers aren’t my favorite.
