Do not use GPS to locate park. Use website directions only. Take US Hwy 421 N to State Hwy 268 W for 15 miles. Turn right onto Elk Creek Rd, go 6 miles and the park entrance is on the right.
This place is special. Amazing views and wide open spaces. If you're a horse person, this is heaven. Definitely plan to have dinner at the restaurant. The night we took 8 people, they were very busy. The girls did an awesome job!! The food was hot and fresh. Honestly, the whole experience exceeded our expectations. That's tough to do these days. Hats off to Trevor and Abby for running a class operation.
I can’t say enough about how awesome this place was! They saved a 16 year olds birthday! Our five teenagers were impressed! The people there were some of the nicest people I have met and the resort was absolutely beautiful! I cannot wait to go back when everything else there is open! We were definitely impressed
Leatherwoods Mountain is a great place. The cabins are very beautiful and well kept. The property is wonderful with horse trails and walking trails right in your backyard literally. Definitely would recommend for any vacation.
Me and my family have been visiting the Leatherwood Mountain Resort for more than two years now. We’ve stayed in several cabins, all which were very clean, well stocked, and had an amazing view of the mountains. The staff at Leatherwood are all amazing. Friendly and fast to answer any questions. We enjoy the convenience of the the on-site restaurant which has live music some weekends. If you are a nature lover you will love the Leatherwood Mountain Resort.
My husband and I camped with our horses and dogs at site #7. We had a pathway right down to Elk creek. This area is just gorgeous. The creek gets regularly stocked and the fish are big. We always saw people fishing. The horse trails were nice and you could ride as much steep or flat as you like. The reason for this review however is the staff at Leatherwood. I wanted to let everyone know how awesome the staff was during our visit. Wayne would do anything for you. Thanks for all your help with my horses and their safety. Carolyn, Susan and Ashley in the office are so friendly and accommodating. Smiling and easy to talk with. Super helpful with directions or places to get tires. I highly recommend a visit to this place just to meet these amazing people. Thanks VC for the bear carving!!!!!!
