It's beautiful there!! But a couple of things...
1) There needs to be bear-friendly recycle bins! Very important. I saw way to much plastic, glass, & tin being thrown away with no regard of our environment. It saddened me to see that.
2) With the Dam right next door. I don't see why you can't update the restrooms. Put in plumbing with a sink for hand washing & possibly flushable toilets. You can install one sink outdoors maybe? Just a thought.
All in all though. We had a great time!! Thank all so much. We will be back soon!!
Box Canyon is the best place to go for camping with family friends and kids equipped with bathrooms camping spots and a homemade lake with waterfalls close to the dam Lookout and campfires. Exceptionally clean, garbage is taken out everyday by Park Rangers. Bring your kayaks and floaties. The water is exceptionally clean with pea gravel nice mowed grass just a wonderful place to go with your family. And only a few minutes Drive to go see some exceptionally beautiful waterfalls and have a little hike on the way.
Great little free campground for families. Cute swim spot and life jackets are provided. The bathrooms could use a little more cleaning but its better than nothing
Great little place. Water is warm for swimming; however if the fountain is out it gets dirty and stinks.
