Camp on the edge of the Trinity River in one of 21 tent/trailer campsites. Popular for fishing and pleasure boating alike, this clear, cold section of the river is world famous for its fly fishing. Paddlers enjoy the narrow valley with Ponderosa Pine, Douglas fir, Oaks, and Madrone trees coating the walls of the canyons. If you would like more adrenaline rush, the waters below Pigeon Point rage at class III-V for white water enthusiasts. Those interested in a more relaxing experience can enjoy the abundant camping options in the area or head for the trail with your friends, horses, or dog. If you would like to stay at the river's edge, you can always swim, fish or do a little gold panning. The river can be accessed from many locations along this stretch of the Trinity River.
1.5 miles west of Junction City on State Highway 299.
Great campground with water near the Trinity that, really surprisingly, allows campfires even in the summer. The host was super friendly. The major drawback is the proximity to the road. You get a lot of road noise throughout the night when big trucks go by.
Along Highway 299 so cars and trucks disurb ambiance all night. Generally, clean and well-maintained. No wifi and very faint cell service. Running water and vaul toilets.
Nice and clean campground with a camp host. Right next to hwy 299 so there is noise from the traffic. Has water, no power and in ground toilets. Open seasonally.
Great hosts, great sites, cheap price, but right on the side of the highway. This place is really nice. If you are in an RV or don't care about the noise, this is the spot for you. There was a light coming from host or bathrooms that was quite unpleasant in a hammock at night. Car lights streaking through the trees at night is actually quite nice to see. I'll definitely make this a stop again since those are not a big deal to me.
The host at this little campground was a pleasant surprise. Although I never got her name, she was obviously serious about your comfort at this campground, she was caring about the campground appearance without being overbearing with the rules. She very eloquently put the kibosh on unruly patrons who didn't respect others or the campground. ALL ON A BUSY 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND... this hostess rocks, oh yeah, the campground was pretty good as well. Big campsites, well shaded, large fire pits and right on Hwy 299 but still felt private.
