Dodge Reservoir, located approximately 17 miles northeast of Ravendale, California, is a 480 acre water impoundment that was constructed in 1937 by the Dodge Brothers for irrigation.
The campground has sites with picnic tables and one wheelchair accessible vault toilet. There is no trash collection or potable water. Donations are welcome but there is no site fee. We recommend calling the Eagle Lake Field Office, for current water conditions before planning a fishing trip
The reservoir is located at approximately 5,600 feet in elevation, in a high desert setting of sagebrush hills with scattered junipers. The reservoir has traditionally been stocked with Rainbow Trout, Lahontan Cutthroat throat and brown trout by the California Department of Fish and Game. The prime time for fishing this reservoir is spring and early summer when the water levels are the highest. Title to the land under and adjacent to the reservoir is a combination of Private and Federal ownership. The Dodge Ranch holds the water rights to the reservoir with no minimum pool requirement.
Beautiful secluded campground, perfect for stargazing! Make sure you come during new moon to see the most stars. You will need a high clearance vehicle, 4x4 not necessary though.
There are toilets and some campsites have grills, but those are the only amenities. Bring all the food and water you will need + extra, you don't want to be too careful. Also there are no trash cans, so be prepared to carry any waste you have out with you. The lake is stocked with trout, and there is plenty of opportunities for hiking. Bring a lot of lights and bug spray!
