Northbound drivers to Sacramento can take either Interstate 5 or Highway 99. From I-5, take the Capital City Freeway East exit from Downtown Sacramento, follow the signs to Reno. The Cal Expo exit is just Northeast of the American River. Highway 99 becomes the Capital City Freeway just North of the 12th Avenue exit. Continue over the river to Cal Expo; Southbound drivers to Sacramento can arrive via Interstate 5, Highway 99 or Highway 70. Highways 99 and 70 join I-5 just North of Sacramento. From I-5, take the I-80/Reno exit East and continue to the Capital City Freeway exit just past Watt Avenue. Continue toward downtown Sacramento until you reach the Cal Expo exit.
Roads from I-5 are gridlocked during rush hour so before entering Sacramento we stayed at Rolling Hills Casino the night before -- then entered Sacramento around 11am so that traffic was less. Once in the RV Park the roads are wide and sites are sufficient even for multiple slides. There is evening noise from stadium events but it quiets down.
All concrete, no trees or grass. Spots are pretty small, there is not really room to set outside table and chairs. Clean place and appears safe. This is an rv park, not a hotel as the review questions suggest.
Love this place reasonably priced! Peaceful and security is always around giving one a peace of mind. Dog park and many eateries close by. Conveniently located near freeway and shopping centers are close by. American River is close for nice walks or fishing 🎣. This is a hidden gem 💎 and I would highly recommend. Oh yeah and staff is professional helpful and friendly
Stayed here for almost 2 weeks while my wife received IV treatments from a clinic. Price is reasonable for location and what you get. It's pretty much a gravel parking lot or a paved parking lot with full hook ups. No picnic table. When you got a trailer or RV, you don't really need a picnic table. I have enjoyed no mosquitoes at this park! There's a bike trail nearby that you can go on for a walk. This park is fenced in and Cal Expo has their security roll around the park often so no need to worry about creeps coming in. The lot is well lit at night. If I had to come back down here, this would be the 1st place I would try to book.
The spot is great for being in the middle of a city. The price is great as well. It is pretty much a parking lot with hookups, but if your looking for an rv stay what more do you want. The one major issue I had was that they sprayed everything with herbicide, including the whole dog park. Which might not sound that bad, but herbicides ingested can kill a dog. I don't understand why they would spray the dog area. So if your dog gets sick after you visit here, now you know why.
