About Campground

From the creators of Big Kahuna’s we are proud to present our amazing resort located on the Blackwater River offering canoeing, kayaking, cabins and camping. We are located on 48 acres of pristine campground, offering primitive camping, and 30-50 Amp RV hookups. We have a shuttle that leaves our resort, takes you up the Blackwater River to various drop points depending on the length of your trip. The ending point of your trip is our resort, so when you are done you are at your safely parked vehicle, cabin or tent.

We have three beautiful rustic cabins on site for those who want to make a weekend of it, or turn a long full day trip into an overnight stay. Secluded (non-primitive) cabins have indoor kitchens, baths, air conditioning and all necessary linens. Additionally, each has a charcoal grill, fire ring, and picnic table.

Absolutely beautiful property with amazing cabins and man made lakes. Perfect for camping, canoeing and pulling in your RV. The staff is friendly and you can launch the canoe straight from the site, no need to wait for the tram to pick you up. You can park on the grounds and leave your car there, where it is safe. If you are looking for a place to float down the river and have fun with the family this is it!

My husband and I spent three nights primitive camping here. If I could give it more stars I would. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The grounds were well kept and clean. Canoe and kayak rentals are available on site or bring your own and use their shuttle service. Volleyball court and horseshoes also available. Plenty of trees for hammocks next to any of the four ponds on premises. All around great time. We're already planning our next trip!

Best natural/real camping experience I've had thus far. Ran by Ben, who knows what the deal is and provides an amazing experience with a well maintained and beautiful landscape. They made my son's first camping experience truly memorable and I can't thank them enough. Can't wait to come back and visit!

We took the kids' canoeing and we enjoyed the 5-mile canoe float. We stopped at several sandy beach areas to relax and explore. It was quiet and peaceful. Ben was great. He gave a quick rundown of the area and made our time very enjoyable. We do recommend taking some time to come to Blackwater Joe's. You can stay there or go for the day. It's definitely worth your time!
