Overall, we had an absolutely amazing time at Blacks Camp.
I organized a father-son fishing trip, and reached out to the new owners for help, as it was my first time visiting the property. Everyone was so kind and helpful, answering all of my questions and recommending ways to make the trip memorable.
Accommodations: We booked one of the larger renovated rooms, two bedroom one bath, with full kitchen. It was recently renovated, and very nicely done. It was steps from the docks and restaurant.
Restaurant: The food was delicious, we had five separate meals there over three days.
Guide Services: We booked a full day catfish charter with Captain Jon Mercer of No Mercy Fishing, and he was awesome. No need to research other guides, go with him and you will not be disappointed!
I cannot wait to go back!
Great day fishing with Pete’s Guided Tours on Lake Moultrie. Black’s Fish Camp was the perfect place to stay the night before. Super service and wonderful place to start.
We rented one of the cabins for four nights. It was very nice and clean. The new owners were very nice and a pleasure to talk to. They have really worked hard on improving the restaurant and it shows in the food and service. All of our meals were very good and priced right. If you haven't been to Black's in a while I would definitely recommend going back. Looking forward to our next trip!!!
First off when we checked in for 4 nights I asked the manager if they gave military discounts? She responded yes but when I gave her my debit card she never gave me the discount. This was on Sunday evening, she didn't come back to work until Thursday morning. So I asked her about it and she said there's nothing she could do about it. The lady that worked Monday through Wednesday was super nice. The apartment was ok, except for the TV. I have computer monitors bigger and the channels suck. On Thursday morning we went to eat breakfast and it was 5:40am and had to call them to open the front door. Maid service only consisted of fresh towels, and one day they left our door open while we were fishing.
Absolutely the best camping grounds in the area, however so many long term renters you can no longer find a site much. Restaurant has amazing breakfast lunch and dinner. Recommend to anyone but might want to call ahead the day of do to not being able to reserve a site and availability.
