About Campground

Bill and Marge Davis had the dream of creating a place where families like their own could spend time together in the outdoors. They dreamed of the giggles of small children as they jumped into a pool and the peacefulness of taking a nap underneath a big shade tree. They visualized small boys with fishing poles over their shoulders walking to the lake. They could even smell fried potatoes, scrambled eggs, and bacon cooking on a Coleman stove. In 1966 with 5 kids and a hole in their pockets, Bill and Marge invested all they had and purchased land in Galena, Ohio. The dream was shared with their children, and year after year, improvement after improvement, Berkshire Lake Campground grew to what it is today. What began as open land a few rustic campsites is now 81 acres of primarily wooded area with over 300 full-service lots.

We have 50 beautiful daily camping sites, all full-hookup, with both 30 and 50 amp service. These sites are available to rent on a daily, weekly, or even monthly basis. Centrally located, they are within a short distance from the store, pool, activity center, and facilities!

Look on the Google Ariel and look at the left at then at that tiny campsite. That was the one I had. It was my fault for picking the site but why do they consider this a viable site. The back sloped down considerably and the side was useless unless I wanted to sit by the road. A tear drop camper would be the only one that it could fit. There was no picnic table but then again there is no room to put it. The campground needs to note the smallness of that site.

The rest of the campground was good. The staff was fantastic. We didn’t use the pool but it looked great. I would go back but not at the same site.

The staff was very nice. There are several amenities . The park seems more fitting for the outside workers lodging for several months and seasonal. My kids can make friends wherever, but there were no kids for them to play with. The pool is very clean and so were shower houses. You did have to pay to shower.

We recently camped here from Tuesday-Sunday. We arrived late Tuesday, had no issues setting up in the dark, the spots are clearly marked. There is nothing fancy about the campsite we stayed at; but had all accommodations(full hookup) and all were in good(new) condition. Our site was 35 which had a slope at the back and one side, but it was decently level and easy to back in to. The pool was clean and large(4ft and 10ft) and had nice lounge chairs and umbrellas. We happened to be there a weekend that an activity was rescheduled for and had an absolute blast! There was a carnival which included multiple(like 10) bounce house/water slides and inflatable carnival games with prices for children(younger children) it was so unexpected and amazing! All interactions with staff were very friendly and genuine. We will be camping here again for a quick and easy getaway.

Staff was great. They have a small but nice pool, small playground, large camp store, sand volleyball, Gaga pit, and tennis/pickle ball court. They have scheduled activities for kids and adults. Labor Day Weekend had lots of fun activities. Staff was accommodating. Adjacent to the campground is the Party House which is a restaurant/pub with pool tables, good food ( pizza, grilled sandwiches, wings, etc) and the game on TV. Close to Alum Creek and Char-Mar park. Only down side is that sites are very close together - but our site backed to a sloping green space that went to the woods. Picnic table and fire ring were in the back facing the woods- nice.

Terrible place, Mikey is the worst person I've ever met, horrible ignorant disrespectful & absolutely terrible at her job. Would not recommend staying here. Drunk people run wild crashing golf carts into everything, I was almost ran over by some drunk guy who was speeding around the campground called Mikey to report it & she did NOTHING about it. The maintenance will not fix anything if you have troubles with your lot, you can call and complain all you want. I wouldn't recommend this place whatsoever. All around horrible experience.
