Fresno, CA to Oakhurst on Hwy 41. Oakhurst to RD 222 to Bass Lake, CA. Go up to Beasore Rd. 14 miles to Beasore Meadows RV Park.
Althought the location was convienent to access the popular hikes in the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, I was not impressed with this campground. Actually I was disappointed with the site and disgusted with the bathrooms. The bathroom sinks were covered in bugs and grime and the showers were overtaken by mold. Clearly the bathrooms and showers had not been thoroughly cleaned in some time.
This is a great spot for RV camping while visiting the Smith River or Jedediah Redwoods State Park (entrance is a mile away). The resort trees are very nice, but many spaces have no shade at all-- something to consider when the weather is hot. We had no shade, and it was quite uncomfortable. The next day when we asked to move to a shady area, the gal in the office was extremely unhelpful and made me go for a walk to find the space number. She didn't smile ONCE, was completely uncordial, and acted like we were bothering her.
Aside from that, the ONE restroom/shower building was far to walk to. The showers require tokens, which you have to purchase in the laundry room way up by the office; and there is no change machine to break a one for quarters. I had to walk to the Chevron station by the park entrance to get quarters for both the shower tokens and to do laundry there. The office is RARELY open, so good luck getting help with anything. Aside from that, it was a quiet, pleasant stay.
This is the worst RV park we stayed during our 6 nights trip from the north of Origon to the Redwoods.
We came after office hours, but there is no any information about office hours (not in the email confirmation, not in the paper that you got at arrival), so I still do not know the office hours of this place.
Anyway, if booked everything on their web site and you came after office hours, you will get an envelope with your last name and information about the number of your place and code for the restroom.
There showers, but you need to pay for it. There is a machine where you can buy tokens for shower ($0.50 for 5 mins, the machine accepts 1, 5, 10 bills). Shower hot but quite dirty. The restroom is dirty too.
If you need to use a dump station - you need a key from the office, office is closed.
If you need to throw out the trash, you need a key from the trash bin, office is closed.
So, if you are staying for 1 night and come after office hours, you do not have a way to use a dump station or the trash bin. It is awfully I think.
For the same amount of money you will have much better service in the other park.
But the territory of the RV part is very nice and surrounded by one of the most beautiful places.
