Years ago, this camp was great, but the quality has dipped recently. The food situation changes every year, but seems to get worse and worse each time I come back. Things are broken and don’t get fixed for years, and there is a little new growth overall. This camp was amazing, and still can be, but the council needs to commit to making it better and more functional.
Camp Oljato, for me, was the best Boy Scott camp I had ever visited. The vast variety of activities and skills one could participate in made it practical impossible to do everything, but the had something for everyone. It's located on one of the most amazing lakes, and will be enjoyed by all that attend it for some time too come.
It wasn’t one of my favorite summer camps, but I went and had a good time. Overall when I was there, the Koch was had been fired so there wasn’t enough food. Me and my troop would probably not go there again but overall, I had a good time. And one of my friends that has a condition of food allergy he is gluten-free, so they did not give us very much food for him. He got a bag of rice on the day we had to cook.
