Woolum Campground is a large open field at the Woolum access to the Buffalo River near St. Joe AR. There are no amenities at Woolum. There are no designated sites. A vault toilet is available. Fees are not charged at Woolum. Woolum serves as overflow when Tyler Bend campground is full.
It was fine but would like to have had better facilities there. I can't recommend it as a destination spot for anything other than a take out spot for a canoe trip.
Good place to put in to float the Buffalo River. The road is dirt and pretty rough. Go slow and you won't tear anything up. Primitive camping if you want
Camped on the river here. Great place. Clean with a pit toilet, Couldn't cross the river though.....it rained while we slept at night and we woke up to water almost at our doors.......whoops 🤦🏻😂 great experience
following 15 to 14 north of the buffalo down to the end of the road is a great spot i took my kids and there was lots of sand for them to play in was very private we seen one family on our way out. great spot for a group camping trip. down by the water it can be on the shallow side until until about 10 feet in and it gets deep near the cliff side. I did not get to fish the area but seen bass hitting on the surface the whole time we were there. great place to take the family for a day swimming trip. only thing i didn't like was the lack of shade down by the water. I personally will be returning to do some fishing and camping.
