Great place to stop for a rest on the rim to river hike (especially if you're on your way back up, you'll be happy to take a break). There was water here to drink, plenty of spots to sit and relax, and if camping is your thing, the ability to sleep under some of the most beautiful rock formations on the planet.

Hiked from the Bright Angel trailhead to Havasupai Gardens and back in early July 2023. My round-trip hike time was just over seven hours. Fantastic experience!

Just hiked through this campground going from rim to rim. Amazing hike. Beautiful location. Nice clean bathrooms with fresh running water and benches to sit and relax on. Covered areas for protection from the heat. Lots of campground sites.

To be clear, this is a campground, no rooms, no service, but a great location. We stayed in the group site, it accommodated 10 easily. Multiple trees (trees!) provided shade and an incredible counterpoint to the surrounding high desert. This campground is a lush oasis compared to the other primitive campgrounds we stayed at on previous nights, and they were beautiful in their own light. There was much more foot traffic here and construction contractors were staging operations including helicopter landings.
