Staff was nice and very accommodating. Run down and not very clean restrooms and showers. Very noisy from street racing day and night. Beautiful spot but not worth the money. Will not return to this campground.

It’s been over 20 years since I remember taking my oldest two her on a old jobs summer company picnic! Nice to see not much change in the level of water! 🙏 anyway! Absolutely beautiful drive into the lake and the cliff walls are breathtaking! We had meet some friends up as they rented a boat for us to all enjoy the day! We arrive to find that the lake employees kindly took the boat back for a boat “driving” violation. Of course no training or rules. Disappointing but I won’t give a bad review for people doing the right thing regarding safety!

Reason: passed a little quicker than should on a wake zone!

Well, it was a short, no boat ride day! Was in and out in less than hour, but being humbled I was grateful to reflect on past moments and giggle at the current! Hope I’m back before the next 20+ years!

They used to have the best fish and chips with homemade tartar sauce. I hope they reopen but we park here to hike Bolder Canyon to Viewpoint and it's my fave hike!!

We went on the Dolly Steamboat dinner cruise in the evening and it was quite the experience. The ship’s captain was very informative and entertaining as he navigated the vessel around the lake between the canyon walls and coves. The scenery while on the boat was awesome, with stunning views of the surrounding canyons and Four Peaks in the distance. We got to see several Big Horn Sheep along the way and a Blue Heron on the way back to the dock. Bald Eagles can be seen at times as well. Getting to the lake you travel on the 88 on a windy road, with scenic views of the desert landscape, past the entrance to Lost Dutchman park. While on the cruise we were served a very nice catered dinner with the main entrees being rosemary chicken and stuffed pork and a salad. There was water, iced tea and lemonade for drinks with the meal and dessert was served after dinner. You have the option of one or the other or both. There is also a cash bar onboard for other soft drinks and adult beverages. Crew members were friendly and attentive. The cruise lasts about 2 and a half hours. We would recommend this trip for anyone who wants to visit Canyon Lake - it’s just an hour or so drive from Phoenix and the surrounding communities.

I love this lake! Fishing has been slow but should be picking up in the next few weeks. The moon will be phasing out and with the warmer weather the water temperature will be coming up. The Bass will be moving in.
