This is a moderate hike with some good views. Bugs were not bad at all and the trail was well maintained but rocky

Truly an amazing hike for the winter. You will not be disappointed. At an average pace I've found it takes a solid hour and a half to get to the lake, maybe a little less but not more. Great experience all around.

Great hike. Had my daughter on my back with a pack weight of about 45 pounds. It was definitely a challenge with the weight, but without I would rare the hike as average difficulty. The hike starts and is a constant grade without much breaks, the middle of the journey has most of the switchbacks which take most of the elevation and the last mile is relatively flat as you traverse to the lake. Had some lunch at the top where there are some logs and flat areas to sit. Lake 22 is a little more picturesque but this lake is far less crowded. I was the only person with a toddler on my back.

Awesome hike on I-90. Starts out pretty flat, but definitely get steeper later. Beautiful lake, especially when it's frozen. Not a ton of places to sit at the top, particularly when it's covered in snow, but you can walk a little bit around the lake. Parking lot is huge, and I've not had a problem with finding parking in the past. It's also practically right off the highway, so driving to the trailhead is not usually an issue in the winter.

Nice hike, it's a steady up the whole time, but not too steep. This is in a snow park, so requires a snow park pass. This is a separate pass, you can get a day use one online for 25$ an print it out.
