A Northwestt Forest Pass (daily/annual) is required for entrance to Dorothy Lake. view more information here: https://www.wta.org/go-outside/passes#northwest-forest-pass-details
This is one of my favorite easy backpack trips. The lake is an easy and short hike. There's a hidden waterfall at the top of the lake where the river crossing is (walk the social trail upstream a short ways) and you can keep hiking to Bear, Deer, and Snoqualmie lake if you want. Swimming under Big Snowy Mt in the lake during the summer can't be beat!
Great short hike, but challenging enough to make you work... Throw away the stair climber and get outside!
This looked so much better in pictures. But then when you camp there, WiFi doesn't work, room service is nowhere to be found, and then Uber didn't even show up. And I'm not even talking about the lack of plug-ins to charge the phone. Who makes it like that?
Great hike, very quiet campsite. Super pretty, awesome whitewater views and stuff on the hike.
Fine hike overall with plenty of outflow at the time a few years ago. Lake huge and uncrowded though too chilly to swim back then. Be prepared for stair stepper type uphill parts though distance isn't bad.
Plenty of rocky areas make for a challenge but just go slow and it should be ok.
Trees growing on islands are great plus.
