From jct US-360 & Hwy-153: Go 1/2 mi S on Hwy-153.
Family run, very accommodating, nice clean grounds & showers, sites are under tree cover, dog & duck friendly. We had a pull through on the duck pond, very nice. Sewer hookup was uphill so little challenge there but would take same site again for the lovely view. *swimming pool was rehabbing but looked close to done.
Would give negative 5 stars if it were an option. Horrible management, let a child be bit by a resident's (known) aggressive dog. Did not inform the parents nor called for medical help. Had the animal immediately removed but gave zero notification on whether the animal was current on its vaccinations (rabies) still has not done so. Kicked a family out for having a MEDICAL emergency, and having a. Ambulance and police there. Because per owner's exact words "I don't want the police here". Avoid this place at all costs. Possible shady things going on
Awesome campground love the scenery 😃 will probably be staying awhile for work best place I've stayed since I've been in Virginia
What a wonderful weekend!! Camping at it's best! Sites are clean with plenty of space to accommodate a larger setup if needed.
Restrooms and showers are clean and the water was actually HOT!! Huge plus considering how cheap the whole trip was for everything.
3 adults & 5 children
Fishing was so fun and the trails were properly maintained.
The people were very informative and sincere about their help.
My fiance and I WILL be coming back very soon. Alone this time.
This is the best experience we have had in 2 years at a campground! We travel all over for work, so we have lots of experience with campgrounds. Ok so the "rooms" get 5 stars because it's your own RV lol. But the family and friends that run it are fantastic people. They are so friendly and so welcoming. The campground is very safe with lots of children around, and I felt extremely comfortable letting my daughter run and play. The atmosphere is very relaxing and quiet. I can't recommend this place enough. If we end up going back to that area for work, we will be returning to Amelia Family Campground without even looking for anywhere else.
