Not far from Cheaha State park is Lake Chinnabee Recreation Area. This 17-acre lake is tucked into a pastoral valley of peacefulness. Lake Chinnabee Recreation Area offers sanitary facilities, hiking, picnicking, fishing and the Chinnabee Silent Trail connects the campground to Cheaha Wilderness. Lake Chinnabee is an ideal spot to enjoy nature for daytime recreation.
Nice calm lake. Looks like a great place to fish. A good little hike will bring you to a small waterfall. Great place to take your dog. I do not recommend the trail for small children but they do have picnic tables and some swings.
would be 5 star if they cleaned off shoreline trail...Hard to see the snakes until you are right on them...But still a few nice views
Went up creek instead using trail to reach. It was not the easiest way to get there but we saw many small falls. Most with deep pools below them.
I was disappointed by the accumulated trash along the way. Makes me very sad that folks can't respect nature. Leave it like you found it.
The lake is small and shallow but attached to some great hiking and waterfalls. The area is shaded and quiet.
Beautiful area and worth the drive to take the hike to Devil's Den Falls. The lake is little more than a wide area in the creek. Is looks marshy and shallow. We saw several turtles hiding in the brown water. The old playground is a great way to indoctrinate you kids in old-style metal slides. There are many grills and picnic tables. Bring $3 in cash to pay for day use parking.
