Bohamia is a 268 acre private forest retreat surrounded by 400,000 acres of the Talladega National Forest. You'll feel like a world away even though you are about an hour's drive from Birmingham and Atlanta.
Booking options include temperature controlled Glamping cabins with queen size beds and private decks, RV sites, and camp sites around the property. Gorgeous bathhouse (seriously) with private restrooms and endless hot showers.
Bohamia is best explored on foot or bicycle (or kayak in the case of our five acre spring fed pond and nearby Talladega Lake). We have miles of marked trails and many unmarked trails for adventurous types. We also have marked trail access to off property gems like Talladega Creek and the Blue Hole waterfall and swimming area.
All sites allow at least one vehicle to park nearby unless otherwise noted. In many cases you can have two vehicles by your site, or can park in group areas nearby when not loading or unloading.
Use Google Maps or Waze to navigate - Apple Maps will lead you astray. Send us a message the day of arrival on your expected ETA and we'll make sure you have all the info you need to get checked in. Once you turn into the driveway, it will be a paved steep incline and then it turns into a winding gravel road for 3/4 mile. You will see a sign that directs you to The Lodge. Drive past The Lodge and Bathhouse and follow signs to your site.
I can't say enough about how beautiful, peaceful and magical this place is! It's nature at it's finest display. Curry was an excellent guide, and made sure everything was just as it should be. The trails were well marked, and the walk to the lake was quite the hike! The bathrooms were clean, the showers were....well let's just say you don't find these showers at other campsites. I will definitely be back!
Bohamia is the perfect getaway! The staff on site are friendly and helpful! In addition, if you need anything from thr camp store you purchase online and they bring it to you.
The RV sites are awesome with plenty of room per site so you aren't on top of each other. The bathhouse is right down the hill from the sites.
The trails on site are well manicured and marked for fantastic views of waterfalls and streams.
We plan to make this an annual trip.
Beautiful campground and fantastic camp amenities. The bathhouse was very clean and we appreciated the heaters in this chilly weather. The staff were super friendly upon check in and check out. So nice to have access to the pond and trails all in one area. Will absolutely return!
This is truly a magical place! The grounds, trails, and sites were exceptionally clean and easy to access. The views along the trails (the creek, falls, the hills) were spectacular. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. Although we were primitive camping, we got a chance to see the glamping sites and I cant wait to try those next time I am around. At night, by the pond, we were able to gaze at the thousands of stars above us. It was simply a perfect place to get away and enjoy nature.
What an amazing property! Loads of great trails, a nice fishing pond, sites were large - RV 5, we had a large family and weren't crowded at all -
Bathhouses are brand new and well kept -
We have a large 5th Wheel, it was a bit of a challenge to get up and down the entry hill - drug the bumper on two of the hills (just some scrapes on the bottom) small tow behinds shouldn't have any issues *so long as you have a beefy tow vehicle
Will definitely be back in some fall weather camping - perfect little spot just a few hours away
