**HTR Moab** (*formerly ACT Campground*) offers deluxe cottages, lodging rooms, and cabin-style rooms, all just a short drive to downtown Moab, Utah, and multiple national parks.
Located at U.S. 191 and Mill Creek Dr, at S edge of Moab, Utah (2.5 mi S of the city center). Driveway on Mill Creek Dr.
My husband and I stayed in one of the studio cottages during our trip to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Each cottage has a designated parking spot that assures guests always have a space close to their door. The cottage was spacious, exceedingly clean and comfortable. The location is away from the bustle of downtown Moab but only a couple minutes' drive away. It's also an easy drive to both national parks from the lodging grounds. The cottages have covered porches that are a good spot to relax in the fresh air in the evening. The staff is helpful with recommendations and provide a great list of free activities/scenic destinations. HTR Moab is a great value for the price.
If you want to be close to downtown and to Millcreek this is a great location. The people who work here are outstanding and the facilities are all clean and well stocked. We were tent camping- there is highway noise and not the views of being up at Horsethief, on the Colorado or in one of the parks but for the amenities and service it was nice for our family of four- indoor and outdoor kitchen were great. Really appreciated the bike/dog wash too.
HTR was a great place to camp! I wish I could remember the name of the husband and wife who were hosting the campground, but wow, they were a wealth of knowledge of Moab with places to eat and explore! The campground was in a great location away from the main hustle and bustle, and with great views! It’s only a short drive from downtown and Arches. The amenities at the campground were amazing, great shower house and a huge kitchen to cook your own meals! Would stay at again!
I would love to give this place a good review, but I just can't. The good news is they are SOOO close from going from a 3 star to a 5 star in my book, just a few changes needed.
First, the Good:
Well located on the backside of Moab. The rooms are relatively comfortable, and the grounds are clean. Can't comment on the price as my wife took care of all that. The people running the place were really great.
Second, the Bad:
We were staying in the smaller cottage with the bunk beds, which presumably is designed for more than one person. Two grownups, and maybe two kids? That was our family make-up. But the hot water heater in the unit can't be larger than a couple gallons of water, so there is no chance in HELL of having everybody get a shower in at the end of the day. I took a blisteringly fast 45 second, luke warm shower, each kid took a 1 minute shower (maybe shorter), and then my wife couldn't even get through washing her hair before the hot water was gone.
The trash truck coming to empty the dumpster at 6:30 in the morning was a great way to wake up the entire campground.
There were a couple other much smaller nuisances that I won't bother with here... the place just needs some critical thinking refinements.
