Campsite: Tombstone Territories RV Resort

I would have given the RV park 5 stars but we have an all electric coach and we were charged for propane which we don’t/can’t use. The person who bought the propane gave his name as “Skip Bartab”. Obviously a fake name. I was told that we were charged because we had just left and they assumed it was us.(I did not see an office to check out in person). I find this very odd that they don’t keep better records. We did get a refund.

The RV park is very quiet and has gorgeous sunsets. The sites are generous in size, close to Tombstone, Sierra Vista and Bisbee. The park was very clean.

We got a 10% first time visitor discount. There is a 4% charge for credit card use, $2 per day charge for each dog and electricity is charged, $.17 KWH, even for I day stay. The website says to wear a mask etc etc, but I didn’t see anyone wearing one.

So, if you want a quiet place, stay here. Just closely check your emailed bill.

Campsite: Abilene KOA

This KOA is under new management. the pros- good freeway access, close to shopping and restaurants, mistletoe in the trees ( it is Christmas time) and rigs were spaced out so you didn’t have a neighbor on top of you, site was long and a nice office staff. The cons—It seems to have been built before big rigs were the norm. It took 3 tries to get our 43 foot class A situated so our big slide wouldn’t the power stand. or the picnic table ( I moved it out of the way) causing us to have to unhook . The locust tree branches scraped the top of the rig but no damage. The biggest negative was the noise from the freeway. Earplugs help if you are a light sleeper like me. The sites are close to each other and tree positions make it tricky to get in and out of your site. Good for smaller rigs.

Campsite: Lavender RV Park

Our RV broke down, we were delayed by 5 hours while repairs were done. It was going to be dark when arrived so I called the owner, who was waiting to escort us to our site. Great customer service. It is close to I20 with some road noise but not terrible. There are no amenities other than a dog park. There seem to be many long timers, the sites are level and long. We would stay again.

Campsite: Tra-Park RV Park

Great price, basic RV park with bathrooms and laundry. The sites are gravel, level with a picnic table on a concrete slab. No wi-fi or cable. There is a nice park for kids a short walk from your site. Check in and out is noon and the office staff goes to lunch at noon so we didn’t get to meet anyone. You sign a rules form and put it in the night drop in the laundry room. The dog park is dirt with a few tall weeds, some “ fossilized” poop, and 2 cans to put your poop bags in ( which needed to be emptied). Other than that, it is clean. The park is next to a community center and regional airport. I didn’t hear any planes but we only stayed overnight. It was quiet and we were spaced out so you had more privacy. I would definitely stay again.
