Spencer Spit State Park offers serene beauty, perfect for quiet beach walks and camping. Nature’s tranquility at its best in Washington.
This trail is steep and not really in a fun switchback kind of way like Oyster Dome or Fragrance Lake trail. Great exercise.
It’s also relatively swampy.

In the shadow of Mt. Baker, I found a world rugged and unyielding, yet profoundly beautiful. The trails wind through forests where the whispers of ancient trees tell stories of time itself. The air, crisp and invigorating, fills the lungs with a purity found only in these high altitudes. Each step is a communion with the earth, a dance with the untamed wilds that sprawl endlessly before me. The mountain, stoic and mighty, watches over the land with a solemn grace. In its presence, one finds a humbling sense of insignificance, yet an overwhelming connection to the grandeur of nature. This is a place where the spirit is both lost and found, amidst the echoes of the wilderness that resonate deep within the soul.
An excellent hike, and has lots of “choose your own adventure” type of trail offshoots/and options, so you can be really hardcore or keep things casual based on your preferences.
Have heard great things about this trail, but our attempt was made more difficult by biting flies. Not sure if this trail is particularly bad for flies or what, have never had issues in this area before. Requires more research.
