Fishhawk Trailhead is one of the more popular trailheads in the North Fork of the Shoshone River corridor. Trails leading from this area can take you to the North Absaroka Wilderness and the Washakie Wilderness. 16-day stay limit Water: Available This site is not accessible to persons with mobility impairments. From Cody travel west on U.S.Highway 14/16/20 for 42 miles. (This trailhead is about 11 miles from the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park)
The fishing was rough and the trail was difficult. Not worth the trouble. Lots of bears
Views along the main road leading to/from the East Entrance may have Big Horn Sheep.
Great deal for $10 a night. 4 pens can hold a couple horses each. Big enough for them to roll. Some individual stalls for day riders. Bathroom was OK. No dump station or trash dumpster. Water pump for horses. Trails were intermediate to advanced. Several water crossings. You could cross over highway or under through drainage pipe. Fresh bear claw marks on trees. No sightings
