In Oakhurst, CA, at intersection of Victoria La (State Rt. 41) and Road 426, take Road 426 south and go 6.3 miles to Bass Lake sign. Turn left after sign, staying on Road 426, and go 0.9 miles to an intersection and stop sign. Turn left onto Road 222 and go 1.2 miles to the Campground Registration Office on the left. (All campers, including those with reservations, must FIRST go to Registration Office to pay fee and obtain site selection.) After processing at Registration Office, exit back onto Road 222 (back the way you came) and go 4.7 miles to campground sign. Turn right at sign into campground.
Planned a trip to Yosemite and this was one of the only campsites left within a 2 hour drive of the valley. Despite the drive up, I’m glad I went with Wishon. The campsite was great, but the lake and Miller’s Landing made it worth coming back to.
The proximity to Miller’s Landing was a game changer. I was expecting this “Landing” to be a random sub par country restaurant, but it turned out to have one of the best burgers I’ve ever had and I got it 4 nights in a row. The lake was awesome and we had a lot of fun renting a boat.
We stayed here for 3 days 2 nights and we loved it.. The lake was so much fun but water was cold. It has a store, showers (yes hot water), and a restaurant in there. Perfect for a family weekend.
Nice & wooded campground. The host was friendly & most of the campground was clean. Walking distance to the lake with some viewspots as well as able to walk a mile or so to a nearby market.
However, the 1st night on large party was up listening to loud music, talking & laughing loudly & rude until after 3 a.m.
The 2nd night there was still a lot of loud groups until nearly midnight even though the quiet hours started at 10 pm.
We found the Wishon Point Campground accidentally and since then have been coming here every year. Wonderful location, plenty of cozy sites, most of them have shade. Camp hosts are friendly and take a great care of the camp. The lake is in walking distance across the road. There’s a convenience store 10 minutes driving away. There’re plenty of restrooms on the campsite but no showers available. This place is popular so you want to reserve it online in advance.
