Northeast Marinette County on the shore of Timms Lake in the Town of Niagara. Turn east on County Hwy. R (Kremlin Road) from US-141 on north edge of Pembine, follow County Hwy R 6 miles, then north 1 mile on Timms Lake Road to park entrance.
Great little campground! One thing I would say is.. more garbage cans.. literally no garbage cans at the beach.. but overall great weekend!
People must pay to visit. Reservation only and charged a non refundable reservation fee. What's up with that? When they got rid of the non-reservation sites this screwed the locals. We used to be able to make spur of the moment trips to this campground. We must now make a reservation in advance. No sign on the highway alerting RV travelers this campground is reservation only. When it comes time to camp and it is cold and rainy, you are charged another fee to cancel your reservation. The parking police (rangers) harass you if there are more than two vehicles on a site even though several sites have enough room for more cars without blocking the road. These people who pay to come visit must now walk to the campsite. Even though we are Marinette County Residents we now use another county for camping, Paying taxes for a county park that I am discouraged from using.
Clean bathrooms, nice spacious sites. The trail through the woods could use some grooming, almost impassable in some places. Cigarette butts all over our site when we arrived...disgusting. Sites should be checked when campers leave and cleaned before new arrivals. Campers who litter should be banned/fined. Swimming was nice but water very dirty from....I won't mention it. Again, disgusting....but all in all a nice little campground. It was just some bad/loud/dirty/red neck apples that spoiled the bunch.
Absolutely beautiful hike up to the top overlooking the fall colors and the lake. A strenuous hike but worth it! Amazing campground
