It's BEAUTIFUL! Very well cared for. The only thing I feel could be better is bigger signs. Especially the entrance to the beach and campground area.
Many bathrooms and trash receptacles. I love the cleanliness and have been visiting alot this summer with my grandkids.
We have had amazing time here and will continue to visit!
This is a gem of a county park! Daily admission is 10.00 and a season pass is 30.00, and either is worth it!
They have day camping sites, playgrounds for the kiddos, many covered Pavillion areas, a Frisbee golf course, miles of well maintained walking trails throughout the beautiful woodlands, fire pits, a hotshot pit, a ball field area, an unbelievably nice swimming beach area on their lake, a great fishing dock, kayak rentals, Canoe rentals, paddle boat rentals, and they are redoing and upgrading/updating their group campground area as well.
This more than scenic park is mostly nestled around their gorgeous lake that is lined with a rich mature hardwood forest. It has very beautiful little stops/lookouts/rest areas along their many trails, and they are all very well marked.
Upon arriving make sure to check in at the front gatehouse and get you're sticker (they do have a Dropbox as well) and check in with whomever is in that day. The staff is very knowledgeable as well as very friendly.
I am definitely gonna be doing some camping and fishing here next year!!
Picnic / tent camping area is fantastic! Sites are large and spread out with an extremely clean and new bathroom/shower building. Beach is awesome and very walkable for kids from camp site. Will be back again!
