Highland Ridge Campground is located near Spring Valley, Wisconsin in the Eau Galle Recreation Area. This campground is about an hour’s drive from Minneapolis. There are 57 sites at this campground (38 drive-in sites, 10 equestrian sites, 7 walk-in tent sites, and two group sites). 35 of the drive-in sites have electric hookups. One of the group sites is a tent only site without electric, while the other group site allows trailers and has electric hookups. The equestrian sites do not have electric and are located in an open area. All the other sites are in a heavily wooded area. Sites 28 to 38 are pretty close together, while the remainder of the non-equestrian sites offer decent privacy.
During the summer there are interpretive programs on Saturday evenings. The campground has a playground and about 7 miles of multi-use hiking and equestrian trails. The nearby 150 acre Eau Galle Reservoir offers the opportunity for fishing and has a swimming beach (which unfortunately it is a several mile drive from the campground). The Highland Ridge Campground has a bathroom and shower building as well as a dump station. The campground opens on April 1st and closes in November depending on the weather. All the sites can be reserved.
