Conveniently located right off exit 84 of I-90, we are a beautiful, forested campground on the Yakima River. Open year round, our 60 acre park has a large swimming pond, playgrounds, a jumping pillow, and fiber optic Wi-Fi throughout the park. We pride ourselves on being a comfortable, friendly, and clean park. We are a short drive away from the City of Cle Elum, and the many hiking trails it holds. Pet and family friendly, we are a great place to camp at at any point in the year.
*BE MINDFUL OF BURN BANS! DURING A BURN BAN, IT'S PROPANE ONLY AND WE DO RENT OUT PROPANE FIRE PITS. WHEN THERE IS NOT A BURN BAN, YOU ARE PERMITTED TO RENT WOOD BURNING FIRE PITS*
From Westbound I-90: Take Exit 84. Turn left at the stop sign (.2 mile to park). From Eastbound I-90: Take Exit 84. Head east (.8 mile) on 1st St to Oakes Ave. Turn right (.6 mile).
I will be visiting here again. Everything about this place is awesome. The campsite, the owners, their employees and the amenities. This is a great place for families and people with pets too. There are lots of RV camp sites with both pull through and back-in sites and tent sites too. The kids were never bored here either since there are multiple activities for them. There was also wireless service that comes with your site and since we are living in such a technology-based world, this is wonderful. The bathrooms were always clean too which is difficult to maintain with water and outdoor activities onsite. Then, On top of all of this, I came in with a RV that had a problem with the electric hook up. Someone had put a generator plug on my trailer and I didn't notice it. The Whispering Pines owner and his workers actually created a fix that converted the generator plug to work with the 30 Amp connection on the power supply. This made my stay so much better since I didn't have to find the solution myself. Not many businesses would do this for someone. Thanks!!
I wasn't happy about a $70 price for the campsite and then the showers were the most disgusting things I have ever seen at any campsite. So I wasn't using the showers that I'm obviously paying a good price for and then the next day when I use their bathroom instead of using ours in the trailer and there was no toilet paper in one of the 2 stalls and no paper towels in the paper towel holder. I think for that price you should have those exceptional and they were far from it. However the place was very nice and maintained and had good amenities.
Our first stay was manageable. We appreciated the waiting list but the cancelation policy is too strict for this time of year since their were plenty of vacancies. Did not spend time outside our spot 45 due to proximity to road & common buildings, it was quiet but I imagine during the summer this spot might not be ideal.
Beautiful RV park. The jumping pillow for the kids is great and the little pond is wonderful. We paddled around in it for hours. Also the river walk trail was cool, we were able to walk or ride bikes along it. Everyone complains about the highway noise but it’s really not that bad and we’re from the quiet country. The only complaint is the co-ed shower near the pond. For one, why co-ed? For two, they were absolutely disgusting. Soap scum, mold, etc. However, the other bathrooms were single sex and very clean. Overall we had a great stay and will be back next summer.
We visited this park in early November so our experience may not be typical. The park is large with large campsites. There is easy river access and a small store on site. Ok for a single night stay, but there is not much going on in the area during our visit.
Good:
Quiet, clean, lots of trees and easy river access.
Disappointing:
Our space was not level. Road system is confusing and rough, sites are difficult to find. Overall feeling of being an abandoned area.
