My wife and I stayed in our travel trailer in the campground (Site 7) for a weekend. Overall, the park is small yet it is beautiful and and scenic. The lake provides nice autumn views and there are several trails to hike. This park is way off the beaten path, so be prepared to drive a ways on country roads to get there. The campground was nice, although we found the sites are not level, so be prepared with your blocks to do some leveling.

Nice little park but not a lot to do. The lake is clean, but small. Easy to kayak the whole thing out and back in a couple hours. There were a lot of people fishing so I'm going to assume it's well stocked although I didn't have a pole with me to try it out. Hiking trails are well maintained and marked but don't have any overlooks or really any other destinations (at least the trails that I hiked), just old forest and bird watching. The pool was open and was well kept. The campground spots aren't marked so we didn't pick the best one. We stayed at 41 and the picture online was a little misleading as it's directly next to site 39 but it looked bigger than what you actually get. For reference for others, the even numbered spots are on the outside of the road (aside from maybe a couple) and are much more private in most cases. WiFi is only available at the northern bathroom but I still couldn't connect, the access point may have been maxed out as the campground was full. Sprint and AT&T did not have cell service. Overall, it's a nice little spot and a good place to get away since there isn't cell service but it is a little small and doesn't offer a ton of recreation opportunities.

Excellent camping! We are going back in a couple weeks we had so much fun. All campsites are walking distance to the lake and pool. We didn't take advantage of it but they offer kayak, boat and paddle boat rentals. They also deliver firewood to your campsite which was great.

Trail parking at bottom head next to campsites to the left of giftshop. Fun adventure hike, a bit steep at spots leading to an open relatively flat top, mountain views through the trees before the decent. It poured rain on the way down and on our trip not enough time to become slippery but at the bottom to turn right or left was a muddy pit walkway. There was an unexpected surprise with finding a clearing that had a bench to take a break on, well needed at that point. The markers on the trail were clearly marked and the trail seems maintained. It's a beautiful area with lush greenery overhead and we saw animal life of all species, minus a bear, thankfully. It's definitely a moderate trail and we completely got lost at the bottom with the lack of 2 pathway markers, so we took a bottom road and found a way out to a bottom camper site caddy corner to a bathroom shower house. Being alive, safe and well, I can say our family truly had one heck of memorable experiences here at Moncove for trail hiking. Absolutely beautiful

Beautiful scenery, several spots for fishing, boat rentals available, and restrooms on site. We did not use the pool area, but it looked decent. You cannot swim in the lake, and no motorized boats allowed, but you really can't beat the peace and quiet! Plus it's pet friendly!
