Best vacation spot for a quiet getaway! Rooms are exactly as pictured! Clean and comfy, staff are friendly, helpful and go above and beyond for guests. Kitchen is fully furnished with dinnerware, pots, pans, utensils, coffee maker. Grounds of resort are immaculate and surrounded by the beauty of the mountains! Gift shop is huge with something for everyone. Again, all staff are friendly and helpful. Will definitely be coming back!

We had a pleasant tour yesterday at the Smoke Hole Caverns as part of a group traveling with the Potomac Eagle Scenic Train ride. Our guide was Cheyenne, a nice young woman who seems to genuinely enjoy showing people the Smoke Hole Caverns.

The tour was about one hour. I'd recommend athletic shoes or something with tread since the caverns have wet areas. There were 40+ people in our tour group and that is my only complaint - it was far too many people in one tour considering these caverns are fairly small compared to others like Luray or Mammoth. I'd suggest management limit groups to allow more "wiggle room" as we felt like sardines in a tin. Cheyenne really did an excellent job speaking loudly so everyone could hear and she was very knowledgeable! I don't fault her for the large group, she was simply providing guests with a nice tour.

The cavern store items were pricey but that is to be expected. It's a beautiful shop (gorgeous log cabin build, lots of photo opportunities!) with many, many options from clothing, food, jewelry, shoes and plenty of options for kiddos.

This was a nice experience for those visiting the area!

The tour was very interesting ! Our young guide, Cheyenne, was fun, very friendly and knowledgeable about the caverns, showing us some of the best formations and sharing some of the cavern’s history.

The caverns themselves were cool (in every sense of the term!) and we were able to see a lot of great formations and even feed some cave fish!!

The gift shop was really big and had a lot of awesome finds (everything from food to magnets to shoes!!)!!

We truly hope Cheyenne will complete her project of restoring her dream truck!!! She works hard and deserves it!!

We stayed over a cold January winter weekend in one of the cabins. The room was in excellent condition, the jacuzzi and fire place were in good working order, plenty warm, and the rooms were well cared for. We will definitely go again! Images are from the Smoke Hole cavern. We really liked the tour and was a nice thing to do on a freezing day.

Husband and I wanted to visit West Virginia! We came here the week before Valentine’s Day and wow. It was amazing. The people were so kind, and the place was so wonderful. You have your own grill, picnic table, then inside is gorgeous. You also have a back deck on the honeymoon cabin right by the water. Such a lovely place we got to see horses right behind our cabin and all the wonderful fish in the ponds. It was like a dream come true. My husband and I felt super excited the whole time and so relaxed. Such a beautiful place we will definitely be back!
