Stayed at the campground while touring the Eastern U.S. on motorcycle to wait out a rainy day.
Campground host, Ken was about the nicest man I've ever met! He was very helpful and kind!
My family and I frequent Bee Run many times a Summer. If we're free and the weather is nice we are usually there. The swimming area is great with restroom facilities near by as well as a play ground for the kids. Recently a $5 day use parking fee has been instated for each vehicle(not per person). There is a card only kiosk beside the 2 lane road on the way to the Bee Run. This is where you will get your parking permit and where you pay. No cash, card only. If you plan on visiting a lot in one year, I recommend getting the $40 year long pass. Some folks were mad when free parking was lifted. However, I have noticed a decrease in over crowding and in rude, un-family-friendly behavior. So it's a win in my book.
This is a wonderful place for families during the summer. The scenery is beautiful. Pavilions, playground, camping and swimming. Everyone that visits works hard to keep the area clean. Please throw away any trash you have before you leave ♥️
Perfect spot. Right off the main road, but still quiet. Easy sign in. Hosts are incredibly nice and hospitable people. Just passing through this area, but if I was closer, i would be sure to make this place a routine visit. Hope I get the chance to come back
My family and I are huge fans of Bee Run, and we visit it multiple times every year in all four seasons. The beautiful lake is of course the main attraction our kids love to splash around in the water, and my wife and I love to spend hours floating. We also have boated the whole lake multiple times and paddled at least 85% of it. The lake does have a beach area, but we seldom it because we prefer to seek out the more secluded areas. As of today's date, Sept. 27, 2021, the lake and park are free for anyone to join. This is one of the best aspects of the area, however, if the rumors are true this may not be the case for long. On our last trip we had a small educational hour with our kids on the many different types of mushrooms we found. That's another beauty about the place, every time we go we always have a different experience........
