Only 7 sites, always full. Ppl drive in and out all night long trying to find a spot.
Love Cowboy Camp! It has everything we needed- a fire ring and a table (no water or trash service) It's situated between Arches and Canyonlands Nat'l Parks and Dead Horse State Park, and an easy drive to all. Most campers are overflow from these parks, and only spend one night there; watching them try to navigate the twisty, rutted unpaved road in their humungous RVS provides the nightly entertainment. Sitting atop a mesa, the views are spectacular.
Cowboy campground was excellent! The grounds were great, the spacing from neighbors was perfect. Only reason this isn't 5 stars is the lovingly dubbed "sky potty"... no roof on a pit toilet isn't the total deal breaker for me, but combined with a mostly full vault and it was an unpleasant experience. However do not let that stop you from enjoying a great little campground that is conveniently located to dead horse state park, Canyonlands, and many amazing mountain bike trailheads!
Great dispursed camping with vault toilets. Not enough room for trailers.
Stunning sunset and stary night views.
